Music
There are genres we love, songs that hold cherished memories, and music that just makes you want to belt out the vocals. But it always comes back to what music does for us as a band, especially when we see you in the audience, feeling exactly how we’re feeling on stage.
No matter who you are, where you’ve come from, or where you’re going, music is one thing we have that is universal — in its healing, its energy, and its ability to be the commonality that connects us all.

Dawg Talk
The Dawgs recount some favorite musical memories:
“The whole place sold out and the venue asked to book us for another two days.” “As a friend and stellar musician, in his own right, used to say, ‘Professionals practice until they can’t get it wrong.’ I believe each of us in this band understands the tenor of that statement, and we each have what’s needed to become better, using such thinking. We have a special breed of folks here in Nawty Dawg.”
“Bass guitar is a deep and resonating instrument, and I love the feeling of being in sync with the group when it all just ‘clicks in.’ In my musical career, I’ve been fortunate to have played with some of the ‘heavy hitters’ on tour. The rock-and-roll lifestyle is nothing to be discounted; those guys and gals are tough as rocks, and dedicated… and they know how to party, too!”
“People pull me aside a lot during breaks in the show. But once, my heart truly swelled, when a woman shared her vulnerability with me, telling me that she was finding life too difficult to ‘go on,’ but that coming to the show and hearing us play/sing had inspired something within her to ‘keep going.’ That floored me; I’d never had anyone say such a thing. Moments like that can, simply, change you.” “On two separate occasions, I was given a $100 bill, just to sing a Janis [Joplin] song! …because the person said he ‘needed to hear me sing it.’ That was, quite simply, the definition of *humbling* for me.”
“I think people are pretty amazing, and that includes my band mates. It is a privilege to play with good musicians who are good people. If you have done research on musicians, specifically drummers, then you know that drummers typically have high IQs and the drummer is often the smartest person in the band (I know the other guys aren't reading this so I can say that). As a professor and neuro-change trainer I do know that our performance musically, and in life flows from how well our brain is functioning. It is my hope that as a band we are at our best so you, the audience, can be at your best. Sit back, relax, enjoy the show and leave feeling better than when you walked in."

Schedule
In the relatively short time that Nawty Dawg began to run, from Fall 2019 to Summer 2020, we were grateful to have had several shows fill the calendar. It was just the start of great things to come for the Dawgs.
But as 2021 rolled to a close, the uncertainties and effects of the pandemic continued to be a challenge for all, including musicians, artists, and creatives. But remaining vigilant and hopeful, the Dawgs are running out of the gates, once again.
We want to keep in touch with all of you, our supporters, our Dayton Dawgpound, to let you in on schedule changes, exciting news, new venues, and maybe the occasional “battle of the bands” contest!
Please, LIKE/follow us on Facebook — our current show schedule is kept up-to-date on our public Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/nawtydawgband.
